With every purchase you make at Galeano, you’re helping someone in extreme poverty have a better quality of life.

We started the Lempira Project in april of 2013, two months after opening our first store. From the very beginning we wanted to find a way to help the people who need it most, and back then we decided to help the people who live in the communities around the municipal landfill in Tegucigalpa. In 2014 we decided to take the project to western part of the country, specifically the Yarula, Chinacla, Tutule and Marcala communities in the La Paz department. Since then we’ve made an effort to make at least three trips each year, and have donated over 150,000 pounds of food to over 300 families in 4 communities. We couldn’t have done it without the help of institutions like Juana Lecrerc and CEPUDO, and of course all of our customers who’ve help us make this project not only a reality but a huge success.
